EPIC - the system the Australian Medical Council uses to notarise ECFMG certification of primary medical qualifications - was scheduled to change to MyIntealth™, a new online environment for accessing services offered by Intealth and its divisions, ECFMG and FAIMER.
This is the first administrative step of the process for any junior doctor or specialist seeking to move to Australia. You can do it with or without a job offer. It is a critical part of the process and there is no alternative provider of this service.
Incredibly, the transiton from EPIC to MyIntealth has been a disaster. The system as of 31st January is DOWN and has been down since 16th January.
We asked them how people can make Notary Cam appointments . This is their response (meaning anyone at the beginning of the process is stuck):
"NotaryCam is not currently accepting appointments to notarize ECFMG Certification of Identification Forms (CIFs) or EPIC Identification Forms (EIFs) due to the January 16, 2024 launch of MyIntealth™...
Applicants who have submitted their Application for ECFMG Certification but have not yet completed the notarization of the CIF will be required to complete the MyIntealth Account Establishment process. This process includes identity verification and must be completed before requesting future services in MyIntealth. For more information: https://www.ecfmg.org/myintealth/existing-applicants.html#cert
Applicants who have established an EPIC account but have not yet completed online notarization of the EPIC Identification Form (EIF) will be required to complete the MyIntealth Account Establishment process. This process includes identity verification and must be completed before requesting future services in MyIntealth. For more information: https://www.ecfmg.org/myintealth/existing-applicants.html#epic
Once MyIntealth launches, NotaryCam will resume accepting appointments for applicants who need to complete identity verification in conjunction with establishing a MyIntealth account."
Talk about the dangers of putting all your eggs into one basket with one supplier. Hopefully the AMC is applying suitable pressure. Not the best experience for medical professionals seeking to work in Australia..
