Lead from the front at Gladstone Hospital, Queensland – Clinical Director, Anaesthesia & Perioperative Medicine.
Gladstone Hospital is a dynamic 83-bed facility delivering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, including emergency care, surgery, obstetrics, paediatrics, coronary and palliative care. The hospital also offers mental health support, addiction services, oral health, physiotherapy, dietetics, and speech pathology. Community outreach is a key focus, with services extending to the Boyne Valley Primary Health Care Centre and the recently acquired West Wing, which houses extended medical and private specialist services.
With a workforce of approximately 390 full-time staff, the hospital plays a central role in providing acute, community, and primary care to this region of Queensland.
About the Role
As Clinical Director of Anaesthesia & Perioperative Medicine at Gladstone, you’ll step into a pivotal leadership role — guiding the strategic and clinical direction of anaesthetic services across CQ Health. Reporting to the Director of Medical Services, you’ll oversee multidisciplinary teams, drive clinical excellence, and ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
Key responsibilities:
- Champion the delivery of safe, evidence-based anaesthetic care.
- Lead staff development, education, and supervision across clinical teams.
- Manage resources and service delivery with a focus on efficiency and innovation.
- Foster a strong culture of safety, quality improvement, and continuous learning.
- Support research, training, and professional development initiatives.
- Uphold and model CQ Health’s values in every aspect of leadership.
- Promote a safe and supportive working environment for all staff.
