A brand new service has been set up following funding from the Australian federal government. It is a multi-disciplinary service providing support to children up to the age of 12 years with developmental, behavioural and mental health concerns.
You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team including Senior Paediatricians (General and Community) which will have strong clinical links to the Mental Health Service.
You will be a key member of the senior leadership team within the Kids Hub, contributing to therapeutic assessments, interventions, and review processes. The role also includes providing clinical input to a small consultation and liaison component of the service. The primary focus is to deliver high-quality diagnostic and consultative child psychiatry services for children up to 12 years of age, working collaboratively within this large and dynamic multi-disciplinary team.
There will be the opportunity to lead teams virtually serving consumers in other parts of the community. The role will involve the use of telehealth technology in providing timely access to individualised and holistic assessment and care by expert multidisciplinary clinicians across a geographically diverse area.
You will proactively support the development of community based child psychiatry services, support and facilitate a culture of learning and best practice and help to develop mental health research within the service.

Selection criteria includes:
- FRANZCP OR if UK CCT eligibilty for ESP pathway.
- Qualifications and deep experience in child and adolescent psychiatry.
- Experience and willingness to participate in clinical governance activities.
- Willingness to participate in education and training initiatives.
- First class communication skills.
- First class teamwork and collaborative skills and work methods.
