Services

 

  • One is the largest, providing 128 mental health beds across youth, adult, rehabilitation, and older adult settings. The group includes a tertiary hospital offering an advanced Emergency Department and comprehensive mental health services, including a Mental Health Emergency Centre and a recently established 12-bed Mental Health Unit.

 

  • An additional service located 11km from Perth's CBD, this specialises in mental health, aged care, obstetrics, and rehabilitation. The Mental Health Division operates three community services in Bentley, City East, and Midland, focusing on adult and older adult care.

 

  • A service in the Eastern suburbs, delivering both inpatient and outpatient mental health services, with a focus on adults and older adults in the suburban regions. The service includes 33 adult inpatient beds, including a high-dependency unit and a robust outpatient service through a ATT CTT, providing comprehensive care through a multidisciplinary approach


Your application will be assessed in the following areas:

This service in metropolitan Perth has set important goals for this Consultant Psychiatrist post. These include improving patient flow - length of stay, rate of community follow up, lowering the rate of re-admissions, discharge summary completions ;ensuring appropriate and safe mental health assessments and treatments are undertaken; working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework; educating - supervise advanced trainees and teach, support and mentor all relevant staff and promoting professional development for your and colleagues. 

 

If you are not FRANZCP, you must meet the following minimum RANZCP criteria:

 

  • Specialist training ideally completed in either Ireland, UK, Canada, USA, NZ or South Africa.
  • In your training, have completed a minimum 6 month formal post in CAMHS to satisfy RANZCP assessment. 
  • Have MRCPsych or equivalent.
