In Queensland, Emergency Medical Practitioners get an additional 25% allowance (applied on base salary). Total first year remuneration package is up to (depending on years of specialist experience 1 - 9 years) $630k + oncall, call back allowances etc. depending on experience.
- Emergency Medicine specialty allowance - 25% of base salary.
- 1st year $20,000 incentive allowance.
- Up to 12.75% employer pension contributions (superannuation).
- 3.6weeks CME leave allowance.
- Annual $21,500 CME allowance.
- Annual Vehicle allowance up to $25,000.
- Incentive allowances.
Rockhampton has excellent housing options on nearby beaches or in rainforest hinterland to suit singles, couples and families. It has private as well as government primary and secondary schools with a good choice of child care centres.

Selection criteria includes:
- FACEM
- Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) or Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) certification.
- Significant experience in emergency medicine.
- Good understanding of contemporary EM models of care.
- Willingness to work on roster for weekends, public holidays etc.
- A good understanding of continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous medical education.
- Willingness to teach and supervise clinical colleagues.
