In this exciting post you will provide high-quality care to clients with infectious diseases (including HIV/AIDS, Hep B and C and Tuberculosis) in both acute and non-acute service settings.
You will work within an inter-professional Blood Borne Virus and Sexual Health service, Hospital in the Home (HiTH), Specialist Outpatient service and provide inpatient consultancy services at the main hospital and throughout the health service locations.

Selection Criteria includes but is not limited to
- FRACP or equivalent.
- FRCPA (Microbiology pathology) or equivalent and
- A high level of clinical knowledge, proficiency, and skills in managing infectious diseases, with a particular focus on HIV and hepatitis blood-borne infections.
- A strong ability to manage the entire patient journey, including assessment, admission, ongoing care, transfer, and discharge.
- Comprehensive and concise clinical documentation skills, along with a clear understanding of the policy frameworks that support improved clinical practice and antimicrobial stewardship standards.
- The ability to communicate effectively and provide medical care within a multidisciplinary environment is essential.
- The candidate will demonstrate leadership and a commitment to education by actively participating in clinical teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Ability to collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team are also important attributes.
- A strong commitment to ongoing professional development and the continual enhancement of personal knowledge and skills is expected.
- Experience working as a clinical microbiologist in a post-qualification laboratory setting would be advantageous, although not essential.
- Contemporary knowledge and expertise in microbiology, along with a high level of professionalism and objectivity, are vital. Familiarity with genomics as applied to microbiology would be beneficial, though not a requirement.
- First class interpersonal and communication skills.
- A solid understanding of ISO 15189 standards and NATA Medical Testing Requirements is important, supporting continued accreditation across a broad network of laboratories.
