Job info:

 

  • Remuneration package of up to $534k + on-call allowances, shift allowances etc. PLUS permanent residency support.

  • $20k sign on bonus.
  • Up to $267k base salary.
  • Up to $133k private practice allowance (guaranteed).
  • Clinical Director allowance $23k.
  • Between $20k - $25k p.a. car allowance - depending on experience. 
  • Employer paid pension up to $40k.
  • Professional development allowance $21.5k.
  • On-call allowances, overtime allowances and penalty shifts calculated on top of above.

This MFM unit is the only public high risk maternity service outside of the SE Queensland corner. Some highlights of the department include:

 

 

  • Tertiary hospital.
  • Join 2 MFM specialists and 4 very experienced sonographers (inc. HP5 and HP6). 
  • Recent investment in medical, sonography, midwifery, and administration staffing.
  • Protected time for education, training, research, leave, and administration.
  • Bespoke setting designed for pregnant women with complex care needs.
  • MDT work environment designed for easier workflow and collaboration including 3 scanning suites , seperate offices.
  • MDT includes sonographers, social workers, psychologists, nurses and midwives. Medical support via 2 specialists and 2 registrars. 
  • This service treats women and their babies from the health service's catchment as well as those living as far north as Cooktown and the Torres Strait, northwest to Mount Isa and south to Rockhampton.
  • Research opportunities. 
  • Applicants would be interested in the pathology and complexity of cases.

 

Selection criteria

 

  • FRANZCOG or equivalent , ideally with sub-specialty qualifications in maternal fetal medicine. 
  • Extensive experience in the management of high risk pregnancies. 
  • Strong skills in communication and collaboration. 
  • Have a passion for supporting your own and your colleague's ongoing professional development. 
  • Motivated to further develop your own interests.
  • Ability to plan strategically and to exercise sound judgment when faced with conflicting pressures.
  • Ability to motivate and develop the multi-disciplinary team, balancing departmental and personal objectives.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Desire to maintain the highest levels of clinical practice. 
  • Willingness to participate in research activities.
