Consultant in Perinatal Psychiatry

Mandated salary increases are now confirmed:

 

  • From Sep 2024 - Package up to $498k plus allowances.
  • From Sep 2025 - Package up to $514k plus allowances.
  • From Sep 2026 - Package up to %34k plus allowances. 

 

This is an excellent opportunity to continue the development of this perinatal service in one of Australia’s finest hospitals.  The mother and baby unit has 8 inpatient beds and has a talented multidisciplinary team who work collaboratively with colleagues in other mental health services, maternity services and other stakeholders.

 

The service offers advice, assessment and treatment for all perinatal patients with severe and complex mental health conditions. They also provide care for referrals from rural and regional Western Australia. A key part of the role will be for the consultant to generate, develop and nurture relationships with local mother and baby units, paediatrics and other specialist colleagues. 

 


Remuneration package plus additional add ons, includes: 

 

*An annual professional development allowance of up to $33k per annum.

*40hr week.

Selection criteria

*FRANZCP or equivalent specialist training gained in either NZ, UK. Preference will be given to UK trained after August 2007 to satisfy ESP requirements. 
*Experience in perinatal psychiatry.
*First class communication skills with demonstrated ability to lead and help your MDTs. 
*Demonstrated experience in teaching and supervising medical staff.
