As a Consultant in Psychiatry you will provide 1st class care and leadership across acute inpatient and community services, working within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Scope includes but is not limited to 

• Provide clinical services and leadership for adult inpatient service. 
• Provide consultation-liaison psychiatry services as required.
• Deliver care and leadership to the adult community and triage service. 
• Participate and contribute to clinical teaching initiatives.
• Help teach University of Melbourne students. 
• Provide high level advice to clinical director and executive. 
• Contributing to service development and quality improvement initiatives.

Selection criteria

• FRANZCP or training completed in NZ, UK, Ireland, USA, Canada or South Africa. 
• If trained outside of Australia, a formal 6 month training post in child and adolescent psychiatry is preferred unless you have 10+ years of consultant experience. 
• Excellent teamwork, collaborative and communication capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, providing leadership, encouragement and inspiration. 
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, and research.
• Willingness and ability to undertake continuous quality improvement projects.
• A commitment to ethical medical practice. 
• Willingness to be on an on-call roster.
