Vacancy - Consultant in Youth Psychiatry, inpatient. 
Location - Perth, Western Australia, Australia. 
Salary package - up to $497k + oncall and other allowances. 

 

Relocation and visa: yes , with permanent residency support on arrival.

 

This major metropolitan mental health service in Perth Western Australia has a requirement for a Consultant in Youth Psychiatry to work in an inpatient setting.

 

The ward has 14 beds with FTE of 1.8 psychiatrists so the workload is not onerous. The post could suit a general adult psychiatrist with neuro-development disorders.

 

The mental health act and commission in Western Australia categorises youth as 16 to 24 yr olds.

Remuneration of up to $497k plus additional add ons, future loadings, including:

Selection criteria

 

  • FRANZCP or equivalent specialist training gained in either NZ, UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, South Africa. 
  • Experience in general adult psychiatry ideally with interest in providing psychiatric care to youths aged 16-24 years old. 
  • First class communication skills with demonstrated ability to lead and help your MDTs. 
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching and supervising medical staff.
