It's a major seat of government and a research centre -  home to top universities like the ANU. Canberra also boasts a vibrant cultural scene: it has the National Gallery of Australia (pictured) for example, has museums, festivals, with easy access to outdoor adventures, making it ideal for a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle for singles, couples and families alike. The airport in Canberra is one of the busiest in the country with many connections to the rest of the country - a 1hr flight to Sydney, for example.

  • You'll participate in the on-call roster for Paediatric Endocrinology, providing support for acute paediatric patients.
  • The role involves contributing to clinical governance by practicing evidence-based medicine, participating in clinical audits, and assisting in the development and maintenance of clinical policies and guidelines.
  • In addition, you will play an active role in teaching and mentoring medical students, junior doctors, and postgraduate trainees, and will be encouraged to contribute to research related to paediatric endocrinology.

Selection Criteria

  • Hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Physicians (FRACP) or an equivalent higher specialist qualification with specialist recognition as a paediatric endocrinologist.
  • The ideal candidate will have proven experience in Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes, with strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to patient care.
  • They should possess a deep understanding of quality and safety principles and have the flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of patients.
  • A collaborative and respectful approach is essential, fostering an environment where all team members are valued, ensuring optimal patient care and outcomes.
  •  A commitment to teaching and research, alongside the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, is essential for success in this role.
