This exciting position is your opportunity to shape the delivery of high-quality, safe, and patient-centered care in a beautiful part of coastal New South Wales.
As the Director of Medical Services, you will lead and inspire via expert professional and clinical leadership in the strategic and operational management of medical services and medical workforce. Ensuring a culture of excellence in clinical services, workforce well-being, and operational efficiency, your role will encompass strategic planning, clinical governance, and fostering a collaborative workplace where innovation and quality care thrive.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- The leadership of senior medical officers, as well as junior doctors across 4 sites, including Manning Base Hospital.
- Leadership for medical matters - co-rdinating and delivering first class and safe clinical services, performance management and well being of medical staff.
- Facilitating a positive workplace culture in line with the strategic goals of the broader health service.
- Delivering first-class, safe services, education and research to medical staff.
- Oversight of workplace issues, recruitment, rostering , workplace safety etc.
- Administering, leading and developing policy and programs.
- Prioritising competing demands to meet service needs.
- Balancing budget, service and HR demands.
Selection criteria:
- A primary medical degree registerable with AHPRA.
- Fellowship or an Australian medical college or equivalent.
- FRACMA is desirable but not essential.
- Demonstrated understanding of industrial, legislative and regulatory requirements in healthcare.
- Demonstrated understanding of financial management issues, experience in managing budgets, costing services, contract negotiation and management.
